CalcioMercato have claimed that Juventus are willing to drop their asking price for Samuel Iling-Junior by a couple of million to facilitate the attacker’s move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian media seem to be absolutely convinced that Iling-Junior is on his way to Tottenham in January, with various outlets revealing over the last two weeks that the North London club are at the front of the queue to snap up the attacker (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Over the last couple of days, various publications have stated that the Serie A giants want €20m (£17.4m) for the England Under-21 international, which Spurs are willing to pay (Tuttosport via Sport Witness).

Spurs could get a discount on Samuel Iling-Junior

CalcioMercato have now offered more information on Tottenham’s pursuit of Iling-Junior, stating that the Premier League side are ‘ready to bet’ on the youngster.

They explain that the Lilywhites have had a long-standing interest in the winger, having explored a move for him during last summer’s transfer window as well.

The outlet asserts Juventus are ready to drop their asking price ‘by a few million’ and would be willing to sell Iling-Junior to Spurs for €18m (£15.5m).

Finally, CalcioMercato add that ‘London calls’ for the Chelsea academy graduate, with Juven planning to reinvest the money from the player’s sale on new signings.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though the Italian media are making it seem like this is a done deal, there could still be plenty of twists and turns left in this transfer, with a month left until the January transfer window opens. I expect plenty of other Premier League sides to enter the race for Iling-Junior over the coming weeks.
