Graham Roberts is convinced following Tottenham’s hard-fought 3-3 draw against Manchester City that Ange Postecoglou is the right man to take the club forward.

Ahead of Spurs’ trip to the Etihad Stadium, several pundits warned Postecoglou that his side will get decimated if he sticks to his preferred high-risk, attacking approach, and urged him to be a bit more pragmatic (BBC Sport).

However, the Australian made it clear ahead of the game that he will not change his methods even though Spurs are missing several key players (Football.London).

For much of the first half on Sunday, it looked like the predictions of the doomsayers were going to come true as Tottenham kept giving the ball away in their third and City were all over the away side like a rash.

However, Spurs came out with much more purpose in the second half and played out from the back effectively and continued to flood bodies forward

The away side got their just reward, fighting back to level from a goal down on two occasions to put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Roberts impressed with Emerson, Davies and Ange

Roberts remarked that it is evident from Tottenham’s performance that the players have fully bought into Postecoglou’s methods.

The former Spurs captain reserved particular praise for the makeshift centre-back duo of Emerson Royal and Ben Davies.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt in my mind that we would have lost this game heavily if we had decided to defend deep with ten men behind the ball. Postecoglou believed that our best chance of getting something from this game is to look to get forward and score goals, and he has been proven right.
