Micky van de Ven has hinted that he is working hard to return to full fitness as soon as possible with a cryptic social media post.

Spurs fans were aware right from the start of the season that if there was one area where they could not afford injuries, it was at centre-back.

However, their worse fears were realised when Van de Ven pulled up with a hamstring injury in the London derby against Chelsea two weeks ago, and to make matters worse, Cristian Romero was handed a straight red card in that game, thus picking up a three-game suspension.

Could Van de Ven be back sooner than expected?

According to reports, while Van de Ven does not require surgery on his hamstring, he is only expected to be back in action in the New Year (Telegraph).

However, the Dutchman has now posted an image of himself on Instagram stories along with an hourglass emoji, which suggests that he is not too far away from returning to action.

Spurs Web Opinion

We desperately need Van de Ven back as soon as possible his recovery pace and ability on the ball are key to Postecoglou’s system. Without the 22-year-old, we are very susceptible to the balls played in-behind our high defence.
