The Athletic have revealed all the numbers behind Dejan Kulusevski’s season so far, with the Tottenham man being up there with the best in the Premier League for a lot of the attacking stats.

Kulusevski has only scored three goals in 13 Premier League matches this season but those numbers do not do justice to the winger’s output as he has been relentless both in and out of possession for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

The Swede was asked to play centrally as the number ten against Aston Villa and he thrived in the role, being unlucky not to find the back of the net.

The former Juventus man’s already tops the charts when it comes to running stats, with the 13km he in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth back in September being the most by any player in a single game this season.

Dejan Kulusevski is the perfect Postecoglou attacker

The Athletic have now revealed that Kulusevski has also created 2.1 chances per 90 minutes this season, which is the third highest in the Premier League.

In addition, the winger’s 8.7 touches in the opposition box per 90 is the fifth highest in the division while he is also in the top 10 per cent among wingers and attacking midfielders across Europe for progressive carries, with 5.8 per 90.

It is explained that the only stat where he performs badly is his shots per 90, which stands at just 1.9, putting him in the bottom half for wingers and attacking midfielders this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kulusevski is sometimes a little one-dimensional when he plays out wide but he looked much more of a threat against Aston Villa when playing through the middle. I would not be surprised if Postecoglou decides to keep him in the number ten role for the Man City clash.
